The Role
This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to develop their career with the experience of working with a Global technology company, based in our Poznan office, you will be part of a team of 35 people, split between Poznan, UK, France, Germany and Spain. At our Poznan office we have circa 20 accounting team members working across all GL accounting areas including Revenue, Network Expenses, Operating Expenses and Fixed Assets.
This Accountant I role will be part of the EMEA Opex and reporting team and responsibilities include timely and accurate monthly Opex accounting under US GAAP, local statutory reporting for several countries, other reporting duties and VAT returns.
The Main Responsibilities
- Monthly OPEX accounting and reporting responsibilities under US GAAP
- Statutory reporting under Local GAAP for several entities working closely with our external auditors
- Preparation of monthly variance commentary for accounting movements (p/l and b/s)
- Preparing monthly balance sheet reconciliations, as per the Group timetable
- Providing support to the annual US GAAP audit and quarterly review processes
- Close liaison with EMEA FP&A to assist with commentary against forecast for key Opex accounting areas
- Close working with the EMEA Tax team on annual tax computations, CIS returns, VAT Returns, ad-hoc VAT issues and preparing quarterly forecasting
- Working with Internal Audit on queries; with Procurement and AP to ensure consistency of accounting and clean balance sheet monthly positions
- Identifying efficiencies and automation opportunities. Working closely with team members, broader Finance teams and partners to deliver these improvements / the change management aspect of these initiatives
What We Look For in a Candidate
Minimum Requirements
- Experience within similar sized entities or from an accounting firm
- Microsoft Office – intermediate to advanced Excel.
- Experience of any large ERP system.
Preferred Requirements
- US GAAP, IFRS and other European GAAPs reporting experience would be an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of core accounting principles
- Experience of SAP.
