Job Description
-As a MIOC Supervisor , you will provide service to ensure effective maintenance of plant equipment and related machinery as required and your responsibilities will include :
- Mining operation is managed and directed to achieve the budgeted plan and schedule compliance metrics
- Mining Equipment are utilised according to the target to ensure the achievement of hauling targets.
- Trucks are loaded to full capacity when hauling and the Loading section is informed when this is not achieved.
- The different factors from a hauling’s perspective that influence cycle times, are addressed to ensure the shortest possible cycle times.
- Substandard road conditions are reported to the responsible section to keep damage to haul trucks to the minimum.
- Integrate with plant on continuous basis
- Close monitoring of drilling process
- Using the Mine Process Control (MPC), Dispatch and Analyse and Improve to reduce variability and enhance performance by monitoring, responding and escalating issues affecting truck and shovel rates e.g. speeds, spotting, queuing at the dump and at the shovel, hang time, truck payloads/ number of passes, loading time, swing time etc.
- Ensuring that loading and hauling operator behaviours that affect the reliability of equipment are attended to
- Compliance to plan through Work Management short interval control
- Monitoring and controlling other MPC system enhancement outputs e.g. Big Data trends affecting production through e.g. algorithms that mine cloud data for trends
- Does 1st level interrogation of the system integrity and resolves issues posed to ensure continuing confidence in the system by the stakeholders
- Effectively escalates technical system problems to the technicians for resolution
- Suggests improvements to the system and ensures their successful integration into the operating philosophy
- Manage the section's expenditure within the approved budget to ensure effective cost control and savings.
This role is in the MIOC and Dispatch department at a Band 6 level reporting to the Section Manager MIOC.
- Qualifications
-National Diploma in Mining/3 years’ experience as a Mine Overseer - FLM / MMP will be a recommendation
- Mine Overseers Ticket will be advantageous
- Computer Literacy, MS Office. Dispatch system (Modular), SAP
- Code 08 Drivers Licence
Experience
- 3-4 years Operational Mining experience & supervisory
- Knowledge of Health Mine and Safety act
