Job brief
We are looking for a Copy Editor to join our team and work with a team of writers to ensure all content adheres to our organisation’s guidelines.
A Copy Editor’s responsibilities include proofreading, editing, and working with writers to deliver quality content.
Responsibilities:
· Sub-editing text written by a number of authors to ensure consistent house style
· Checking that content writers have provided all the required information
· Resolving queries directly with the content writers, such as style and text inconsistencies
· Stay in touch with the latest media trends and content best practices
· Collaborate with the team to come up with fresh and creative ideas, keeping the audience in mind
· Ability to manage projects and consistently meet deadlines
· Fact-check all content
· Make sure information is not out-of-date
Requirements and skills:
· Proven work experience as a Copy Editor or similar role
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Highly organised and detail-oriented
· Leadership and time management skills
· Proficient in Microsoft Office
· A bachelor’s degree in Journalism or English is preferred
